Windshield Replacement in Byron, GA
From chips to full replacements, on work trucks and family cars alike, done wherever your vehicle already is parked.
A windshield does more work than the glass in front of you
A windshield is laminated: two layers of glass bonded to a sheet of plastic in between, built that way so the pane holds together under impact instead of scattering across the cab. That lamination is also what separates a crack you can live with from one you can't. Once a crack reaches the edge of the glass, or crosses the driver's own sightline, repair stops being an option and the whole pane has to come out. Floyd's Auto Glass handles that job on everything from work trucks to family vehicles, and does it as a mobile service - the crew comes to your driveway, your job site, or wherever the vehicle is already parked, rather than asking you to sit in a waiting room. The old urethane bead gets cut away, the pinch weld gets cleaned and prepped, and the new windshield gets set and bonded in its place.
How fast the glass actually goes in
How quickly that happens depends on what's on the schedule that day. One customer called for an estimate and had a new windshield in the same day. Another had a technician out the very next morning after calling. A third waited until the next day and still called it fast, with the job itself finished in 30 minutes or less once the crew arrived. Adhesive cure times vary by product and by the weather, so rather than quote a number that might not hold for your vehicle, Floyd's will tell you on the day how long to leave it parked before you drive it again.
